چکیده

We provide the modified TOV equations for hydrostatic equilibrium of charged compact stars within metric $f(R)$ gravitational background. adopt MIT bag model EoS dense matter and assume a charge distribution where electric density $\rho_{\rm ch}$ is proportional to standard energy $\rho$. Using Starobinsky model, we explore role $\alpha R^2$ term, $\alpha$ free constant $R$ Ricci scalar, on global properties such as radius, mass total charge. present dependence structure star several values different parameter $\beta\equiv \rho_{\rm ch}/\rho$. Remarkably, find that radius decreases with respect its GR value low central densities, while opposite occurs in high-central-density region. The measured at surface always maximum-total undergoes substantial increase increases. also illustrate variations asymptotic consequence extra quadratic term.

Perturbative metric of charged black holes in quadratic gravity.

We consider perturbative solutions to the classical field equations coming from a quadratic gravitational lagrangian in four dimensions. We study the charged, spherically symmetric black hole and explicitly give corrections up to third order (in the coupling constant β multiplying the RμνR μν term) to the Reissner–Nordström hole metric. We consider the thermodynamics of such black holes, in par...

Quakes in Solid Quark Stars

A starquake mechanism for pulsar glitches is developed in the solid quark star model. It is found that the general glitch natures (i.e., the glitch amplitudes and the time intervals) could be reproduced if solid quark matter, with high baryon density but low temperature, has properties of shear modulus μ = 1030∼34 erg/cm3 and critical stress σc = 1018∼24 erg/cm3. The post-glitch behavior may re...

Quark matter in neutron stars

According to quantum chromodynamics, matter at ultra-high density and low temperature is a quark liquid, with a condensate of Cooper pairs of quarks near the Fermi surface (“color superconductivity”). This paper reviews the physics of color superconductivity, and discusses some of the proposed signatures by which we might detect quark matter in neutron stars.

From Quark Stars to Hybrid Stars

We show the possible existence of compact stars having a surface composed of a mixed phase of quarks and hadrons. This scenario can be realized both for self-bound stars, satisfying the so-called Witten-Bodmer hypothesis, and for gravitationally bound stars. This class of solutions of the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equation can be obtained in all the models we discuss, within a physically accep...

Distinguishing Bare Quark Stars from Neutron Stars

Observations to date cannot distinguish neutron stars from self-bound bare quark stars on the basis of their gross physical properties such as their masses and radii alone. However, their surface luminosity and spectral characteristics can be significantly different. Unlike a normal neutron star, a bare quark star can emit photons from its surface at super-Eddington luminosities for an extended...
